Look with Lorna

In two weeks our little town will be busy with the Fibre Art Festival. We have lots of things going on in the studio and around town for anyone looking to learn a new craft or just get some wonderful ideas. There are a wide variety of workshops to participate in,  felting, knitting, weaving, sewing, quilting, braiding, rug hooking and fibre art exhibits. On Friday there is a Bazaar at the Holy Family Parish Church where crafters from all over have their crafts for sale, a great place to pick up some unique gifts for Christmas. Here at the studio Norma is offering a hook and hoop on Wednesday evening and Brenda is having a felting class on Thursday evening for beginners. We also have Lucie Neatby here on Tuesday teaching ” Hot Sock Tricks” in the morning and “Dabble into Double” in the afternoon. If there is a class that you are interested in please stop by the studio or any local downtown business for a brochure and be sure to register. To register for Lucy’s Neatby classes, you can email her at dianenolet@me.com.

Here is Brenda getting ready for our 3 day workshop during the Fibre Art Festival…Get ready ladies, it is going to be a  great  experience !

I have had a few phone calls wondering what felting was so I wanted to show people how truly beautiful it is. So here are a few felting pictures done by Brenda, you can see them in person at the YMCA as Brenda has generously donated them.

  1. These are beautiful. Lorna do you felt the wool onto a backing fabric and if so what do you use for the base?
